EuroLLVM has been lovely. Getting back from it not so much. Here is what happened:
- Lufthansa pilots did start a strike (their right, all good), so my flight back got canceled 2 days before its schedule.
- Of course, airline only redirects you to some crappy chatbot.
- All hotlines or livechats just cut you off immediately, excusing for “not being available”, on different times across a whole, normal workday.
- So, rebooked flight. Unfortunately for 7am, so had to get up at 4am.
- Booked a shuttle back. Got canceled 7 hours or so prior to the service. Though, was allowed to just take an adjacent service.
- Airpoirt delayed boarding due to high demand.
- Back in Munich, there have been traintrack works. Wellp, you know, no maintenance, it all goes south. So, not sour on this, but damn, so many coincidences that day…
- Bus stop was poorly signed inside the airport, but staff was very helpful and incredibly patient. Quite impressive, considering they have to answer the same questions to confused travelers all day due to absence of signs…
- Closest stop that could reach main station was Ismaning. So, take train from there on.
- Now at main station, got plenty of time to eat a sandwich, as there were people on the tracks, thus prohibiting my train rightfully so from moving.
- After some time, we were allowed to roll. But, not without cost! Another train got priority. Quite confusingly though, because this train stopped at each and every train station, while hours would just choochoo through towards Rosenheim.
- Once we were able to pass that train, we stopped somewhere in the middle of nowhere due to technical issues on our train (which seemed to get fixed rather quickly, though)
So, that was fun.
